Blautopf - ulm

In Blaubeuren near Ulm is the Blautopf, the second water-richest karstic spring in Germany. Here rises the River Blau, which flows into the Danube in Ulm. The Blautopf takes its name from the blue color of its water. The lime particles dissolved in the water reflect the blue light components, so the source of sunlight shines in the most beautiful blue and green tones. If you visit the Blautopf at the right time, you can watch a blacksmith at work in a blacksmith's shop. From here it is not far to Ulm. There stands the Ulm Cathedral with the world's tallest church tower. The church tower can be climbed and offers a great view. Around the cathedral you can make a  beautifull stroll. The fishing village (Fischerviertel) between the Minster and the Danube fascinates through beautiful half-timbered houses and narrow streets.
