fuji san 2007

During my stay in Japan 2007 I traveled much around the country, and of course I wanted to climb even the Fuji-San. You die from heat in summer, but in the autumn it's bearable. So, I planned the ascent of Obon week. To reach the Summit in a timely manner to the sunrise, I started on the eve at 8: 00. The climb is pretty hard, my condition was not the best due to an injury. My flashlight batteries did not held out not long enough so I had to run with in the light of other hikers. But the effort has paid off, I reached the Summit just before the sunrise. What a gigantic outlook! But the descent was really exhausting. For this I chose a different, supposedly easier route. A gravel, steep serpentine, which fully lay in the Sun. But at some point even the descent was done. The legs were tired, the head full of impressions. In Japan is a saying: a man who once has climbed the Fuji san, is a real Japanese. Who does it a second time, is stupid.
