Tschechien Slowakei

In my younger years I was snowboarding in the High Tatras, now I wanted to explore the mountains by motorcycle as well. A tour of the Czech Republic and Slovakia is just right for a week's vacation. Bratislava and Prague are fortunately on the way.

Tschechien, Riesengebirge

It is 600 km to the Czech Giant Mountains, so a brisk day trip. Here I took a hotel for 2 nights and explored the area. The tour led through the mountains with a detour to Poland. Originally I wanted to hike to the source of the Elbe, but then the time was too short. As a vacation destination, the gegend is quite suitable, because of the nature, the proximity to Saxony or Prague the motorcycle ride can be combined with hiking and sightseeing.

Bratislava

On the way to Bratislava, I stopped at Thebes Castle, a national monument of Slovakia. In Bratislava I took a hotel in the city center for two days. The old town is beautiful to look at and invites you to stroll around. Everything is well kept and freshly renovated. From the Bratislava Castle you have a good view over the city, at sunset everything shines in a wonderful light.

Slowakei, Hohe Tatra

The High Tatras is a border mountain range between Slovakia and Poland, known for its nature and ski resorts. My hotel was in Poprad, in retrospect maybe not the best choice. However, Poprad was good as a starting point for my day tours. One tour took me through the mountains to Poland and back up to Spiš Castle. The next day I drove into the western Tatras. Here I finally found nice motorcycle roads.

Prag

Prague, the golden city! Beautiful, with its old buildings, the Charles Bridge and the Hradčany. The weather was fine and the city was not crowded with tourists. That's the way it has to be. Unfortunately, on the day of my arrival, Prague was declared a Corona crisis area, I had to test myself after my return. Anyway, Prague is good for a vacation. But it is better to take the train to Prague, because the parking situation is modest.
