Eifel - Luxemburg

German Unity Day, probably the last of this rather young holiday, fell on Wednesday. Perfect for a holiday bridge. The weather was still suitable for motorcycles, it should become a near destination. Since I didn't have enough time recently for the Vulkaneifel, I chose a few interesting destinations there. Unfortunately, I did not invest enough time in the preparation, otherwise I would have noticed that there are fixed times for the guided tours for most sightseeings and I would have planned and booked accordingly. Thus, the cold water geyser in Andernach has to wait, as also the historical hydroelectric power station in Heimbach, but I could visit the Lava Cathedral in Mendig, the NS Ordensburg Vogelsang, Monschau and the radio telescope Effelsberg. Everything quite interesting! The hotel in Heimbach was a stroke of luck. The guest room with theatre atmosphere, chansons from the radio, good food and a great breakfast. Who cares that the floor in the old house in the room had a height difference of 10cm. :-)

I went on to my actual destination, a wellness hotel in Esch an der Sauer. There it was as always very beautiful. A nice room, in the evening a 4-course menu, nice motorcycle routes in Luxembourg. Two nights are actually too short, unfortunately I didn't have more time. On the way back I wanted to see the city of Luxembourg, but there it was too busy for me. Maybe I take the train there again and explore the city on foot. On my way home I stopped in Neunkirchen and visited the remains of an old steelworks. The further journey home was unspectacular.
