Istanbul 2013

In 2013 I took part in a giuded tour to Istanbul. Our hotel was located on the Pierre Loti hill, which is famous for its old cemetaries. Right next to the hotel was a teracce overlooking the city, where you could enjoy the view and a good black tea. Istanbul is a stunningly beautiful city! In the next few days we visited the big market, the Hagia Sophia, the Cisterna Basilica, the Galataserai Tower, the Topkapi Palace... I could go on endlessly. The Hagia Sophia impresses less by its appearance than by the fact that it is already one and a half millenia and has survived many earthquakes almost unscathed. We have spent one evening on the waterside promenade at the virgin tower. A trip to Istanbul is definitely worth it and may be safe again soon.
