Kamakura

Kamakura, the capital of Japan many centuries ago, was and is one of my favorite destinations in Japan. From Yokohama quickly to reach by train, Kamakura offers many places to relax. You can get off in Kita-Kamakura and walk along ancient temples to Kamakura. Japanese men can be seen in traditional clothing during the meditative archery. In Kamakura is a nice pedestrian zone with colorful shops and restaurants. From here you can walk over a mountain trail to the Dai Butsu, a 13-meter tall Budda statue. Now it is not far to the Hase-Dera Temple, which has a stunningly beautiful temple garden. There I was often to experience the garden in the course of the seasons. If you needed even more peace, you could practice calligraphie in a cottage. From Kamakura goes a small railway to Enoshima, a small island with .... a beautiful temple complex. The island can be reached on foot via a bridge. The way back to Yokohama takes 40 minutes. If you have not yet enough impressions, you can continue to Shibuya and spend the night there.
